OCCUPATIONAL AND CONSTRUCTION SAFETY PROGRAM (OCSP) OFFICER, Environment, Health and Safety Office (EHS), to serve in a leadership role and provide expert advice on various OCSP programs that support Institute academic and business objectives with due consideration of occupational health and safety laws, federal and state regulations, and good practices. Will lead initiatives or work in teams to conduct EHS reviews within MIT departments, labs and centers (DLCs); and provide expert advice on research projects and experiments, building construction and renovation projects, and incident investigations relative to safety concerns.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree, preferably in a science-related area; at least four years of relevant experience in EHS with emphasis on safety programs; effective written and oral communication skills; and computer and database skills. PREFERRED: experience in occupational and construction safety-related programs such as fall protection, electrical safety, and personal protective equipment; safety or other EHS-related educational program experience; and professional certification (or ability to obtain certification), e.g., certified safety professional or certified industrial hygienist.
