The Dermatology Department is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant - Dermatology who is needed for busy, rapidly growing Dermatology office. We are looking for a motivated, reliable person who can go above and beyond with our patients. Responsibilities include patient care, assisting with procedures, medical documentation, and all aspects of medical back office duties. Must be a team player with the ability to multi-task.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist patient to exam room.
Screen patient prior to doctor's exam and document in EPIC.
Prepare for patient procedures.
Effectively explain processes to patient.
Maintain and operate equipment accordingly to safety and quality control regulations.
Maintain inventory and supply ordering.
Help monitor clinic flow.
Stock exam rooms.
Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):
High School Diploma or GED required.
Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant (e.g. CMA, AAMA, RMA, AMT, NAHP) required. If not currently certified/registered, must become certified/registered within 180 days (6 months) of date of hire. Exam fees will be paid by the department. If a retest is required, associated fees are paid by the employee.
Current CPR certification by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross required. Must maintain MA and CPR certification/registration during duration of employment in this position.
Note – in order to be eligible for certification/registration, successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or five or more years of primary medical care medical assistant experience is required.
Experience as a CMA, preferably in dermatology. EPIC preferred.
Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications:
Must maintain MA and CPR certification/registration during duration of employment in this position.
