SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The primary purpose of this job, which reports to the Vice President, Hospital Operations is as follows:
Responsible for department financial data and statistics.
Provide department leadership for Environmental Services (EVS) and Linen Services to develop strategies and implement action plans in support of organizational goals and initiatives related to quality, patient experience, employee engagement, operational excellence/clinical effectiveness and financial management.
Collaborate and engage with Infection Control, Nursing, Safety and Operational Excellence to develop and drive standard operating procedures, policies, and guidelines to support our mission to deliver high quality care at the lowest possible cost.
Monitor and ensure all departments are in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental health and safety laws, standards, regulations, and requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, Department of Health, etc.).
Use key performance indicators and benchmarking data to improve operational efficiencies and productivity to align with best practices.
Use talent management and organizational development resources to ensure and raise the leadership effectiveness of leadership team and improve employee engagement.
Be the visible leader for all assigned departments and effectively communicate the state of the operation to the Vice President of Operations, department leaders and staff, vendors, and the organization-at-large.
Bachelors degree in business, management, or related curriculum is required
5 years of experience with a thorough knowledge of environmental services in an advanced healthcare setting is required
Experience in regulatory compliance required (e.g., Joint Commission, DOH)
Experience in negotiating contracts, agreements, and partnerships based on financial and operational needs required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Progressive team leadership experience effectively supervising and coaching personnel, as well as, effectively resolving customer relations issues required.
Masters Degree from an accredited college preferred
7 years of experience with a thorough knowledge of environmental services in an advanced healthcare setting is highly desirable.
CHESP Certification preferred
Experience in managing a workforce covered under a collective bargaining agreement preferred
