The manager of science facilities will supervise two science facilities coordinators, who as a team, support the laboratory infrastructure in multiple buildings in the College of Arts and Sciences. The manager will evaluate requests received through the job in-take system and assign projects to members of the team at their discretion; including the assignment of projects to them-self.
The manager will oversee lab renovations and equipment installation, ranging from technical support for equipment installation through laboratory planning and research liaison during laboratory construction; will act as the contact between researchers and Physical Plant and Environmental Health and Safety Services to ensure continuity of research operations that rely on building services and coordination of safety measures; will monitor how building systems support research and teaching; will manage the physical equipment inventory and facilitate moving and recycling of equipment, and will support laboratory decommissioning.
