The Office of External Affairs encompasses three teams: 1) Communications and Marketing; 2) Development and Constituent Relations and 3) Finance and Administration. We are seeking a Digital Content Strategist, who will report to the Associate Director of Content Strategy. The Digital Content Strategist will lead the development and execution of digital content strategies and campaigns for the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The Content Strategist works closely with members of the communications and marketing team and internal clients across the school to identify, conceptualize, and execute content creation and distribution efforts for local, national and international audiences. This work includes developing content for the Bloomberg School's social media platforms, website, podcast, and other digital projects and campaigns.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Associate Director of Content Strategy, and Associate Director of Audience Development to develop and execute a social-first content strategy for the School and to continuously evolve it in line with learnings and priorities.
Coordinate and collaborate with communications and marketing colleagues across social media, marketing, editorial, video, design, and web to conceptualize, produce, and share high-quality engaging content pieces and campaigns informed by audience interests and school priorities.
Coordinate with faculty and communications associates across the school to gather science- and evidence-based information to include in content, ensuring all content is credible, authoritative, and reflective of the school's expertise.
Collaborate with external content creation and distribution vendors and partners as needed to inform and execute content aligned with strategic goals.
Produce high-quality content, spanning written, visual, and video formats, tailored to the school's channels and platforms in line with the school's brand and overarching communications and marketing strategy.
Provide direction and feedback on content created by other content creators within the team.
Develop and execute communications plans for strategic events and school special projects and campaigns.
Help to oversee and maintain a multi-channel editorial calendar to include short-term and long-term efforts.
Working with the marketing and social media specialists, monitor content performance and analytics to inform future content planning and resurfacing opportunities.
Liaise with communications associates across the school to scale content strategy more broadly and to ensure written style and brand consistency.
Copyedit content, marketing materials and other OEA collateral as needed.
Provide additional support on OEA projects as needed.
Support other major initiatives of the communications and marketing team as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):
Bachelor's Degree in English, communications, journalism or related field.
Four years related experience and demonstrated reliability in a communications environment.

Experience creating content for a variety of platforms, spanning written and visual content, is required.
Experience developing and implementing content strategy across multiple channels is preferred.

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience in writing for print and online audiences in various formats
Demonstrated versatility inwriting styles, including news stories and marketing copy
Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.
The ability to set priorities among multiple projects and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is critical.
Ability to manage daily and long-term deadlines without oversight from others.
