The Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery is seeking a Senior Research Program Coordinator (Sr. RPC) to coordinate the administrative and scientific implementation of a number of research projects. The candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigators within the Division of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, including Drs. Hee Cheol Cho and Danielle Gottlieb Sen. This Research Program involves laboratory and engineering-based research with cells, tissues, animals, and human subjects.
Responsibilities will include coordinating administrative aspects of the basic, translational, and clinical science research projects as well as the work of research staff. This job requires the individual to be self-motivated, solution-oriented, and prompt. This position also requires teamwork with other research coordinators, research fellows, and research technicians.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate and schedule meetings that relate to the basic and translational science research activities in a prompt manner for Drs. Cho and Gottlieb Sen
Order laboratory supplies, and track orders
Prepare, submit and oversee protocols for biosafety, IACUC, and IRB approval
Provide support for onboarding logistics and training of research scientists, staff, and students
Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts for publication as well as grant applications. For example, generating figures, building a bibliography, formatting documents according to the funding agencies' specifications, etc.
Develop a broad understanding of the basic and translational research projects, generate documents (e.g., project summary, progress report, etc.) and submit them to funding agencies (e.g., NIH) and regulatory bodies (e.g., FDA).
Manage budget and reimbursements for research activity-related expenses
Communicate project management updates to principal investigators through weekly meetings
Perform other duties as required
These responsibilities may involve travel between several Johns Hopkins medical campuses including the Bayview Medical Center. The job will be performed within regular business hours (8:30 am - 5 pm).
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
Three years related experience
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula
