This is a TEMPORARY position, working for DePaul for a maximum of 6 months. The work schedule is 1:00-9:30 M-Th; 10:30-6:00 on Friday.
The Highlights Reporting to the Loop Custodial Foreman, the primary focus of this position is the general upkeep of the Loop Campus buildings, including but not limited to classrooms, hallways, lounge areas, library and exterior clean-up.

• Responsible for the general upkeep of all the following areas at the Loop Campus with associated tasks for each classroom, hallway, library and lounge areas.
• Washroom rounds all floors to include the following: - Litter pick up - Damp mop floor as needed (spills) - Empty trash containers as needed - Adequate supply hand soap and paper product - Quick wipe down of washroom sink counter surfaces
• Lobby and exterior of campus buildings. - Litter pick-up to include passenger elevators; litter patrol for sidewalk and alley - Straighten all counter areas - Dust/damp mop floors as needed - Empty all trash containers as needed - Ensure wet floor signs are posted for inclement weather
• Responsible for all special event and in-house set-ups as required. Deliveries and pick-up of tilt trucks, canvas mail carts, or the like for office/departmental throws out. Assist other custodians and/or tradesmen with emergencies as specified in the emergency Response/Disaster Recovery Manual. Responsible for the general upkeep and cleanliness of all tools and equipment assigned for use.
Workplace Safety: Employees of Facility Operations are expected to follow all safety rules and regulations set forth by applicable governmental agencies and promulgated by the University Administration. This includes but is not limited to matters related to: Hazard Communications (SDS sheets), ladder safety, walking and working surfaces, slips, trips and falls, mechanical lift use, asbestos containing materials, confined spaces; electrical safety to include lock out/tag out; respirator fit and use; personal protective equipment; and the information contained in the University's emergency and chemical hygiene plans. Employees are expected to refer to the FO Employee Manual and the Environmental Health and Safety website for additional information related to safety programs, practices and expectations
Other Skills & Abilities Required
Previous custodial experience preferred
Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds required
A means of contact early in the morning during winter months for snow removal.
