The Department of Epidemiology is seeking a Research Data Analyst to support multiple projects related to physical activity, physical functioning, and cognitive health with aging.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Develop data collection and analysis methodology for ongoing physical activity/accelerometry projects, including defining in detail data requirements, data sources and proper data collection procedures, e.g., computer programs, appropriate data fields, databases.
Develop and implement data collection quality assurance procedures to ensure validity and reliability of study results.
Communicate with sites and data coordinating center(s) regarding data management and quality.
Update Manual of Operating Procedures across multiple studies (as needed).
Create datasets for analysis and screen for data quality.
Perform statistical analyses and assist with manuscript preparation.
Assist with NIH Progress Reports.
Assist with some administrative tasks such as organizing meetings and submitting expenses for reimbursement.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Proficiency in either Stata or R programming (both preferred) and analysis.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Exemplary organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Bachelor's Degree in public health or related discipline.
Three years related experience.
Additional education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Master's Degree in public health or a related field with a focus on quantitative sciences.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers.
