We are seeking a Research Technologist will be developing novel glaucoma treatments through basic science research and animal surgeries. We are looking for a professional, highly motivated, self-sufficient worker willing to learn our lab's techniques. This person will need to be able to work with many people as we are a part of the Center for Nanomedicine at the Wilmer Eye Institute.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain fibroblast cell lines while meeting a standard of sterility in the cell culture environment.
Maintain cleanliness and lab space organization while respecting overall Center for Nanomedicine rules.
Ordering supplies as needed for lab experiments
Keeping a detailed laboratory notebook
Being comfortable with learning rodent and rabbit handling.
Helping in animal surgeries with our collaborators.
Learning to manage mouse colony.
Attending weekly lab meetings.
Bachelor's Degree in biology, chemistry or related field.
Some related post-undergraduate work experience.
