The System Director of Infection Prevention (IP) and Employee Health (EH) facilitates and manages the ongoing development, coordination, implementation, and expansion of the infection prevention program across Norton Healthcare. This position will also have oversight and leadership accountability for the system's EH services, including the EH Matrix. Serving as a patient and employee advocate, this position is a knowledge resource to practitioners and staff as they provide both direct and indirect oversight of all infection control activities throughout the health system.
This position will be accountable for a successful infection prevention program as evidenced with strong outcome measures. This role will also be required to provide staff development/mentoring and coaching, facility consultation, and coordination of best practices. In addition, this role will ensure the health and safety of Norton Healthcare employees is always being monitored and improved accordingly to ensure our workforce is equipped to provide the best possible care to our patients.
As a key member of the Improvement Network, this position will work collectively with all NHC facilities and healthcare providers to implement goals as well as identify and drive improvement opportunities across the value pillar in support of performance excellence. Frequent collaboration and communication will be required with physicians, hospital staff and administrators to help define benchmarks and develop processes to attain program goals and meet external requirements.
Master’s degree required; Master’s in Nursing preferred.
Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience as an Infection Prevention or Infection Control Nurse.
