The Facilities Receiver/Storekeeper position receives, tracks, distributes, organizes and inventories maintenance parts, supplies, tools, and equipment for the campus-wide facilities operation in a timely and efficient manner in the warehouse. Uses the appropriate computer software and technology to track work orders and inventory and assists with the re-ordering and purchasing of supplies. Checks works order system and parts requests against inventory stock and either delivers or provides items to maintenance staff. Works with manager to ensure that warehouse is stocked appropriately and can meet work order requests, without causing delay to maintenance work or increased costs for out-of-stock items. Works with selected vendors to obtain the best pricing for the university. The Receiver/Storekeeper is also responsible for stocking all items in compliance with safety requirements and for the security of supplies, tools, and equipment in the warehouse. As determined by the direct Manager, may help with maintenance project clean up, snow removal, grounds maintenance, and other duties to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for students, staff, faculty, and tenants. This position reports to the Facilities Field Operations and Warehouse Manager.

Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED; required Associates Degree; preferred 3-5 years warehouse, sourcing, and inventory control experience; required. 3-5 years material handling experience; required. SDS experience; preferred. 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance management at a university; preferred. Demonstrated ability to access and use computer programs such as preferred IWMS, MS Excel and/or other online or software and sourcing tools to track and maintain inventory and work orders. General familiarity with work order system(s); preferred. Perform basic mathematical functions relevant to the position; required. Product knowledge related to maintenance and facilities management parts and materials; required.
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge and skill to safely use equipment and follow equipment instructions: Considers safety in all aspects of the work and storage of materials and equipment to contribute to a safe environment for the students, staff, co-workers, faculty, tenants, and visitors in accordance with IIT Environmental Health and Safety regulations, as well as with other Federal and/or State Agencies. Knowledge about Personal Protective Equipment (e.g. safety eyeglasses, masks, etc.). Knows how to keep working area safe, wears and/or uses appropriate safety equipment, and follows established safety policies and procedures. Demonstrates experience working independently and on a team. Ability to follow controlled access area policies and safety procedures for storing equipment. Working knowledge of building and mechanical systems and terminology. Use computer operations related to position requirements. Understanding of work orders, use of smart phones and other field based technology. Ability to read, understand and follow instructions for SDS; chemical storage, use, and application; and software and online computer systems. Ability to follow directions, make decisions, and escalate questions or concerns to manager when appropriate.
