We are seeking a Senior Research Program Coordinator. TheSenior Research Program Coordinatorwill work for the Department of Psychiatry's Memory and Aging Services and Innovation (MASI) Center and coordinate the implementation of its health services research program portfolio. The mission of the MASI Center is to support the development and dissemination of effective interventions and models of care to improve the lives of older persons and their families who are caring for them. The Sr. Research Program Coordinator will be a key member of the MASI's team and should be an individual with prior experience in research and working with interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities will include management and monitoring of clinical research programs and sponsored projects in the MASI Center.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Day-to-day management and monitoring of research programs and research activities, with a primary focus on the MEMORI Corps trial.
Facilitate community outreach to encourage research study participation of a diverse group of research volunteers.
Oversight and management of IRB and sponsor compliance, budget and reporting requirements, and contracts in cooperation with the Senior Research Program Manager and PI.
Provide updates on protocol implementation status including recommendations on operational issues.
Create, assist and monitor the REDCap database for research programs and activities.
Implement and update protocol and operational procedures as needed.
Liaison with partners and subcontractors/consultants.
Scheduling and leading collaborative leadership and staff meetings.
Serve as a primary point of contact and resource to MASI Center staff, interns, students, and visiting scientists.
Assist and coach Research Assistants/Field Evaluators in recruitment, enrollment, and follow-up of a racially and economically diverse sample of older, community-residing people who are living with dementia and their family care partners, informed consent, data collection and data entry.
Contribute to data analyses (quantitative and qualitative) and the preparation and dissemination of study results locally, nationally, and internationally.
Procure office supplies and participant remuneration using established JHU SAP and ClinCard procedures.
Comply with all budget requirements for research activities.
Supervision and training of approximately 1-6 full-time, on-call/casual, part-time, graduate students and/or interns.
Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
Equipment, Machine, or Tool Requirements
PC and Copier/Scanner. RPC will receive training on REDCap and JHU SAP.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge/proficiency with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, STATA, MPLUS) and database management (e.g., REDCap, Microsoft Access, or SPSS) is desirable.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, responsible, able to work independently, and have great interpersonal and communication skills, as well as meticulous attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and maintaining HIPAA and IRB standards at all times.
Willingness to work off-site 25-50% of the time.
Must have reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk or sit for an extended period of time.
Communication skills using spoken and written word.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
Three years of related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Some supervisor experience preferred.
Previous experience in research with human subjects preferred, ideally in clinical research setting.
Coursework in research methods and statistics preferred.
Prior experience working with older adults, vulnerable or underserved/under-resourced populations preferred.
Experience working with an economically and racially diverse group of people preferred.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
