The University of Central Florida, College of Medicine (UCF COM) Faculty Practice at UCF Health in Orlando, FL is seeking a family medicine primary care physician at the clinical, non-tenure earning, assistant, associate or professor of medicine academic rank. Applicants should be exceptional clinicians who wish to spend their time practicing in an outpatient setting. This position is in the UCF COM Department of Medicine and involves delivering high quality, value-based, team-based outpatient care in partnership with My Health Onsite at a multi-specialty practice located in Kissimmee, Florida, which provides comprehensive patient-focused care for employers in Osceola County. This clinic is a workplace employer-based model of care and we are seeking a practitioner with enthusiasm and interest in population health and new models of care delivery. Applicants need to have demonstrated outstanding clinical practice as well as a high level of communication, collaboration and professionalism.
Essential Duties and Requirements. The successful candidate will be expected to:
Provide preventive, acute and chronic care to outpatients in a busy practice with an anticipated schedule of at least approximately 20 patients per day.
Provide occupational health services (e.g., pre-employment physicals, annual physicals)
Conduct histories and physical examinations so as to work with patients to develop treatment plans that revolve around wellness and preventive health care.
Prescribe and dispense medications, educate and advise on medical issues as needed.
Participate in the clinic's wellness educational programs.
Supervise one or more physician extenders (e.g., nurse practitioner or physician assistant).
Participate in the clinic's efforts for UCF interprofessional education (e.g., medical and nursing students).
Candidates must have an M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree from an accredited medical university. Candidates must be eligible for licensure or actively licensed to practice in the state of Florida. Must be boarded or board eligible in the specialty of Family Medicine upon completion of training. Board certification would be expected within two (2) years of completion of training. A Florida medication dispensing license will be required.
The candidate's scholarly background and experience must be commensurate with the faculty rank for which the application is submitted.
3+ years of post-residency clinical experience in primary or urgent care settings.
Comfortable treating pediatric patients ages 8 and older.
Proficiency in using ICD10/CPT Codes.
Fluent in Spanish.
