The Occupational Health Clinic (OHC) Business Manager is a clinic leadership role with operational authority and responsibility working in tandem with the OHC Medical Director and OHC Clinic Manager. Responsibilities include OHC administrative team management, managing departmental human resource and personnel matters, clinic operational efficiency and improvement, budgetary accountability, maintaining quality and regulatory standards, maintaining a high level of patient-centered care and service, patient and staff satisfaction, program development, managing and developing teams, and ensuring integration with the clinical enterprise. The position provides feedback, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced peers and other members of the team, collaborating closely with the OHC Clinic Manager to align clinical and administrative operations.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years relevant experience
Welcome to the Vanderbilt Occupational Health Clinic (OHC). The clinic is located in Medical Arts Building (6th floor) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. OHC provides timely evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries, illnesses and exposures. We also manage over 40 different programs to protect employees against specific work hazards. Travel vaccines and pre-travel consultations are available at no charge for employees going on international electives or other business travel. OHC operates a separate clinic, Vanderbilt Faculty/Staff Express Care, which provides treatment for non-work-related minor illnesses.
Our excellent, service-oriented patient care is directed and/or delivered by the collaborative, team-focused efforts of an interdisciplinary healthcare provider team including Attending Physicians and Nurse Practitioners. The Leadership Team is comprised of a Medical Director, a Clinic Manager, an Administrative Manager, and Office Supervisor. Clinic staff members include Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Patient Services Representatives.

Collaborates with OHC and Vanderbilt stakeholders to operationalize the mission, strategic plan, budgets, resource allocation, operational plans, and policies for the clinic.
Manages work/goals/expectations of OHC front desk and back office administrative team, and collaborates with OHC Clinic Manager on activities involving clinical team.
Grows and develops staff through management, coaching, and training.
Department leader of HR functions (recruiting/onboarding, personnel management, departmental policies, etc.).
Manages OHC day-to-day operational needs along with longer-term operational projects, process improvements, and culture survey initiatives while coordinating processes across OHC administrative and clinical teams and with other departments across Vanderbilt.
Develop and implement new or revised operational procedures, including communication and change management around new or updated processes.
Prepares annual operating budgets following established guidelines and using benchmark data.
Manages clinic budgetary and billing activities, monitors budget spend and projections, and produces financial reports and analysis.
Develops and maintains contracts and service agreements with affiliates and suppliers as needed.
Maintains data and reports around services, utilization, and cost, and develops written reports as needed.
Leads, develops, and prepares meeting content and agendas.
