The Division of Cerebrovascular in the Department of Neurology is seeking a Research Assistant to coordinate and implement research activities of the lab. Will work under the supervision of faculty members Dr. Adrian Haith and Dr. John Krakauer.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with design and implementation of new experiments.
Assist with developing, maintaining and managing data archives.
Coordinate recruitment of research participants for both in-person and remote research studies.
Assist with scheduling, consenting and running experiments.
Assist with data analysis and interpretation of results.
Participate with PI on design and implementation of standard operating procedures.
Attend lab meetings.
Order supplies and maintain equipment as necessary.
Manage petty cash account for participant payment.
Assist PI with developing IRB protocols and assist lab members with adherence to existing research protocols.
Participate with PI on grant applications, non-competing renewals, and progress reports.
Collaborate with administrative staff regarding grant submissions, as necessary.
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers.
