We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Atmospheric Scientist, specialising in air quality, to join our growing Environmental team. This is a full-time position, based in our Melbourne office, with remote, flexible and hybrid working options also available for the right candidate.

The role:

We help our clients make good decisions based on robust science in the property, water, and construction sectors. You will have responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Undertaking field works, including odour and dust assessments
• Preparing air quality assessments for permits
• Working directly with clients and environmental regulation authorities

• Calculating emissions and using dispersion models to predict ambient contaminant concentrations
• Performing greenhouse gas, air quality and climate risk assessments

• Writing technical reports, including data analysis and interpretation

Our preferred candidate will have:

• A tertiary qualification in engineering (chemical or environmental), meteorology or environmental sciences

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience
• Proven experience in dispersion modelling (CALPUFF and AERMOD as a minimum), meteorological modelling and emission estimation
• Solid project management and client relationship management skills
• Strong report writing and data analysis skills
• A valid and unrestricted Australian Driver's License
• Ability to write Microsoft Excel macros and knowledge of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model and Linux, desirable but not required
