Occupational Health Nurse

As the Occupational Health Nurse you will manage the health/nursing station efficiently to ensure budget compliance, while fulfilling the needs of the site employees and EAP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serves as a health and wellbeing resource to all company employees. Counsel associates and make appropriate referrals to outside medical providers.

• Provide counseling and advice to Site Leadership Team on health and wellness issues.

• Maintain certification on audiometric, pulmonary function, etc., testing as required and qualified vendors, to provide health services. Personal development to maintain license.

• Manage Quick Response Team (First Aid/AED) to include training certifications & continuing education.

• Lead the site Ergonomics Team with assistance from EHS-Industrial Hygiene.

• Identifies employees with actual or potential occupational exposures, including chemical, biological, and ergonomic, and determines the need for baseline and annual medical surveillance.

• Files work-related injury and illness claims with Workers’ Compensation carrier.  Communicates with Claim Managers. Maintain information in recordkeeping systems, i.e., EHS One, Cority Electronic Medical Record system, OSHA recordkeeping and regulatory compliance submissions.

• Case manages employees who are on medical restrictions and on short term disability.  Following the Employee Request for Accommodation procedure, with the goal of keeping employees productive at work while recovering.  This involves collaboration with the Disability Case Management team, HR, medical providers, Broadspire and other key stakeholders.

• Provides health education designed to prevent injury and illness by promoting effective management of occupational and non-occupational health issues.

• Maintains and safeguards confidentiality of employee health information and health record in accordance with Company confidentiality policy and records retention procedure.

EHS Responsibilities:

• Know, understand and comply with all Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines

• Report unsafe conditions

• Report all injuries, illnesses and hazardous materials releases

• Wear personal protective equipment

• Attend EHS training programs

• Follow all safe work procedures

Quality Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all Quality Compliance standards (Data Integrity, QA, and QC, etc.)

• Adhere to QMS policy and regulatory requirements.
