Position Summary:

Under general supervision, the incumbent performs radiation safety surveys, performs all duties of radioactive waste management, coordinates and performs collection, distribution, and processing of radiation survey meters and dosimetry, processes and delivers radioactive materials packages, responds to campus hazardous materials emergencies, and conducts radiation safety trainings.
Compensation Range:
$78,613
Required:
Experience using a personal computer for word processing and data entry.
Ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, and students. Skills to operate a variety of radiation instruments.
Knowledge of UCI EH&S policies and procedures related to the use of radioactive materials.
Written and oral communication skills to effectively perform all duties.
General knowledge of scientific nomenclature, radiological concepts, and laboratory procedures related to the safe handling of radioactive materials.
Experience and knowledge with research institutions and environmental health and safety programs.
Preferred:
Familiar with Federal and State regulations regarding the safe use and handling of radioactive materials, radioactive waste, and radiation-producing machines.
