The Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health is seeking a Costing Program Coordinator.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and implement tools for collection of cost data in multi-county, multi-center trials.
Develop standard operating procedures for cost data collection.
Travel to study sites in Africa (Uganda and South Africa) approximately twice per year (2 weeks per trip) to oversee costing operations.
Train in-country staff (either in-person or by zoom) in the collection of cost data.
Manage cost data and ensure ongoing data quality.
Troubleshoot logistical problems with in-country staff.
Perform site visits to ensure quality of in-country data collection.
Develop and submit materials for ethical (IRB) approval.
Analyze cost and cost-effectiveness data using health economics techniques including regression, deterministic and probabilistic sensitivity analysis, and cost-effectiveness acceptability curves.
Contribute to dissemination activities, including presentations to stakeholders.
Write manuscripts and present abstracts describing the results of analyses.
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Three years related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Familiarity with statistical programming (especially in R).
Familiarity with scientific data collection.
Familiarity with writing scientific manuscripts.
Ability to work independently as part of a collaborative team.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination.
