This position is part of the Risk & Safety Solutions team that supports technology efforts UC-wide. The Associate Director of DevOps will assign projects and assignments to the Senior Product Developer for requirements gathering, project coordination and resource management.
JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the Associate Director DevOps, serves as a Senior Product Developer working on Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) initiatives. Serve as an agile product owner for assigned components of Risk and Safety Solution (RSS) enterprise platform, including but not limited to regulatory inspections, occupational safety assessments, permits and use authorizations, and hazardous materials and equipment inventories. This position works closely with customers from various backgrounds including safety subject matter experts, regulatory agencies, and academics to develop extensive functional requirements for exible product components that address the functional needs of system wide EH&S Technology Initiatives.
In support of the Platform Manager, ensures that development of assigned products is aligned with broader strategic vision including unified platform and scalability. Identifies and articulates functionality and business objectives for assigned products. Contributes to development of detailed proposals for new products and enhancements for existing products. Proactively communicates and validates potential changes to product scope and priorities throughout development cycle. Synthesizes disparate and varying user needs and requests to develop functional requirements that serve multiple use cases and audiences. Collaborates with other product owners, business analysts, and project managers to manage integration points and dependencies to deliver robust solutions according to portfolio timelines. Gather and analyze data to support product development and improvement from multiple sources including direct input from, monitoring data from user tracking platforms, and indirect input acquired via client-facing teams and stakeholders. Works independently and with business analysts to document extensive requirements and system design in a shared repository.
Works directly with agile development teams on assigned products to communicate product vision and guide the development of new and existing products throughout the continuous delivery process. Creates, prioritizes, and otherwise maintains a backlog of user stories to guide the team through development from initiation to delivery, including continuous iteration. Act as the voice of the customer for developers providing concrete, practical rationale and use cases to support requirements. Create and present supporting documentation including, but not limited to, process ows, user ows, in-app copy and messaging, and user roles and permissions. Participate in scrum ceremonies to provide clarity and guidance, answer questions, approve completion of stories, and act as a representative for customers and the product team.

Bachelor's Degree in a related area or equivalent experience.
Experience with product development concepts and practices to produce value for stakeholders. Experience guiding a team throughout product development cycle, articulating product vision, developing roadmap, themes; applying Agile methodologies as a product owner.
Experience analyzing and synthesizing significant and disparate requests, requirements, and other data to produce objective product requirements and recommendations.
Experience learning novel, complex, and cross-functional processes from multiple enterprise sources, consolidating disparate business requirements into generalized functional requirements, and translating requirements into user stories for simultaneous projects.
Experience building consensus and managing competing stakeholders' expectations; developing best practices and reviewing competing products.
Experience leading subject matter expert workgroups for multiple projects to elicit and document user requirements and translating those requirements into user stories with valid acceptance criteria.
Skills to learn quickly, reason, synthesize, and generalize based on information obtained.
Preferred:
Experience working in Environmental Health and Safety or Risk Management.
Experience with Lean Process Management, working with business stakeholders to streamline their processes.
