Job Summary: Under the direction of the Regulated Waste Program Manager, the Waste Management Specialist is responsible for the compliant transportation and waste determination of chemicals and other hazardous materials on campus. The Waste Management Specialist minimizes the quantities of hazardous chemicals and other materials on campus; implements policies and procedures for laboratory cleanouts and universal waste storage and disposal requirements; consults on the safe management of laboratory chemicals and hazardous waste; performs program fieldwork (including waste collection, transport and handling, and incineration); and provides guidance for the safe transfer of building-to-building transfers of hazardous materials.
