Your New Role At Societal:
We are looking for an Associate Director, Product Development. In this role you will be responsible for management of the product development teams to ensure the timely delivery of the product development milestones for various internal and external client projects. The Associate Director of PD will be responsible for supervisory management of scientists and support staff and ensure the projects are conducted in conformance to regulatory compliance (cGMP, DEA, etc), standard operating procedures and budget capability.
How You Will Make An Impact:
Direct and lead the effective development and/or transfer of products, methods, processes, and technology at all Gainesville sites by providing technical and scientific oversight of all projects Support senior management and Business Development in due diligence, selection and commercialization of new projects, products and technologies from external partners.
Interact directly with internal and external clients in relation to tech transfers, new product introductions, technology enhancements and process improvements by providing recommendations for technical solutions where appropriate.
Provide scientific expertise, project management and engineering support for technology transfer projects, development of formulations, methods, and processes for new product candidates, and scale-up activities.
Provide assessment and budgetary proposals and management for the purchase of laboratory equipment and supplies.
Operational management of the Product Development group in the areas of:
? cGMP and Training
? Environmental, Health, and Safety
? Support expense budget preparation, monitoring, forecasting and cost control
? Project Management
? Objective setting and Performance Reviews
Provides technical guidance and support to the PD Scientists including but not limited to drug product development, investigations, corrective and preventive actions.
Support PD Director for hiring members of the Product Development team and ensuring they are adequately trained to perform all necessary tasks of their roles
Responsible for documentation generation, review, and approval as required, particularly, but not exclusively in the areas of Product Development, CMC, Tech Transfer and Validation Support in assessing new business development opportunities.
Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis.

Ideal Candidate Will Bring:
Education and Experience
• PH.D. or master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with
six to eight (6-8) years of experience in Oral Drug Product Development or
• Bachelor’s degree with ten (10) years of relevant experience
• Generally, four to five (4-5) years of leadership experience
