The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a Medical Office Supervisor. The Medical Office Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of three full time Medical Office Coordinator (MOC) positions in the Pediatric Neurosurgery Division. The supervisor is responsible for performance management, training and coaching responsibilities.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise and oversee the Pediatric Neurosurgery Division multi-faceted clinical/research office to ensure a smoothly functioning office and excellent patient relations.
Act as primary liaison for physician practice to inter-departmental administration and other clinical management.
Perform administrative tasks, special projects, and other related operational activities.
Coordinate and provide administrative oversight of day-to-day activities.
Supervise two or more full-time staff members.
Provide quality assurance of patient care.
Work with the providers to establish and interpret policies and procedures.
Demonstrate independent judgment in resolution of administrative and patient related issues.
Intervene as necessary on issues relating to patient complaints, provider concerns, and operational issues by taking measures to correct situations and/or ensure involvement of appropriate personnel.
Provide guidance and assistance to staff with triaging patients for medical care or patient issues.
Purchase office supplies, equipment and manage maintenance agreements.
Open, sort and screen mail.
Utilize JHU systems for purchasing and travel transactions.
High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
Five years progressively responsible administrative experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
