The University of Washington (UW) Department of Medicine (DoM), Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) is seeking applicants for a full-time (0.6-1.0 FTE) ambulatory leadership faculty position based at Harborview Medical Center (HMC). The selected applicant will serve as Chief of the OEM Program, a joint activity of DoM/SoM and DEOHS/SPH. The Chief will oversee the major components of the OEM program, including the OEM clinic (led by the Medical Director of the OEM Clinic at HMC), care of workers at all HMC clinics served by the HMC COHE (Center of Occupational Health & Education), OEM training (led by the Director of the OEM Residency), and the DEOHS OEM MPH degree.

Leadership responsibilities include communication (leading meetings, tracking activities, and reporting to accrediting and funding agencies), facilitating partnerships and collaboration with stakeholders, and overseeing teaching and enrollment in the OEM MPH degree. Clinical care responsibilities include approximately one day per week in the OEM clinic and one to two days per week in another GIM outpatient clinic to be determined, or externally funded consultative, legal, or scholarly work. The position includes protected time for leadership, teaching classes in the SPH, and mentoring trainees.

This position will be at the Associate Professor or full Professor rank (without tenure due to funding). Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. Associate and full professors (WOT) hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The position will remain open until filled, and the start date is negotiable. A joint appointment in the School of Public Health's Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences or other relevant departments is anticipated.

Salary

The base salary range for this position will be: $18,333 - $23,000 per month ($220,000 - $276,000 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other Compensation

Other compensation associated with this position will include an administrative salary supplement for administrative service as Program Director.
