The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Office of Information Technology seeks a Software Systems Specialist who is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day system administration and development of the BSPH implementations of ServiceNow, Maximo, Appspace, KnowledgeLake, and other companion applications.
The BSPH instance of ServiceNow is the primary request system for IT. Maximo is the primary request system for Facilities. There are about 7,000 active BSPH users. KnowledgeLake (document management), Appspace (building signage), Secret Server (password management) have smaller sets of active users, but support enterprise-level needs.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned).
Assists with the gathering of requirements to formulate business specifications and translating those into business functionality.
Assists in translating requests into best practice format and preparing them for application functionality.
Under general supervision, makes system modifications as needed.
Performs day-to-day administration, development, and ongoing maintenance.
Completes tasks to modify records, update permissions/roles, change group memberships, and implement system features.
Assists in the development and creation of dashboards, reports, and metrics.
Assures quality and integrity of data collected and reports generated.
Executes test plans to ensure that business requirements and functional specifications are implemented properly and meet objectives.
Assists in evaluation, installation, and testing of vendor updates and new releases while maintaining system integrity and availability across development and production environments.
Develops, edits, and maintains operating procedures and standards manuals.
Conducts and records training sessions to demonstrate system features and functionality and/or implement new or improved systems and procedures.
Assists in interactions with internal IT clients, BSPH vendors, and professional services providers.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
One-year related experience.
Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Mid-expert level Microsoft Excel and Word experience.
Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
ServiceNow, WebSphere, and Maximo system administration experience.
Experience designing and implementing IT and non-IT related process workflows, procedures, and technical standards.
Experience in test plan creation and execution.
Proven experience working with diverse teams.
Ability to create documentation.
Experience managing relationships, operating procedures, and scope management with clients and coworkers.
