The School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (EAS;eas.gatech.edu) at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Earth System Science. Applicants will be considered at all ranks. We seek candidates interested in understanding the dynamics of Earth system processes through a variety of approaches, including experimental and/or field-based techniques, theory, data synthesis, and Earth system modeling. Areas of particular interest to the department include geochemistry and biogeochemistry of oceans, sediments and surface waters, high-temperature and isotope geochemistry, geomicrobiology, astrobiology, Earth system science of carbon removal and greenhouse gas mitigation, and coupling between solid and fluid components of the Earth system.
The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate and connect with other scientists in EAS and across Georgia Tech; build a vibrant, externally funded, and internationally recognized research program that addresses scientific questions of fundamental significance in Earth system science; and provide high-quality teaching, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and substantively advance student success.

An earned doctorate in a field related to Earth system science is required before start of employment. Successful candidates will have a strong track record in pursuing and disseminating original scientific research, and clear potential for high-impact teaching, scholarship, and service.
