Bay View Geriatric and Neuropsychiatry is seeking a Research Data Analyst to build and maintain healthcare datasets and provide statistical/machine learning data analysis for the Richman Family Precision Medicine Center of Excellence for Alzheimer Disease and related projects.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate with investigators to build and maintain large health record datasets and design and implement machine learning and statistical analyses on these datasets.
Create, build, and maintain databases, records, and files.
Create and recode variables.
Generate and maintain database documentation.
Write statistical/machine learning programs and review output for consistency and quality.
Create and maintain documentation of statistical/machine learning methods and code.
Use library and web resources to research statistical/machine learning methods.
Interact with co-investigators to plan data analyses and interpret results.
Perform data analysis and interpretation utilizing knowledge of programming and statistics.
Generate reports, figures, and tables for manuscripts, presentations, and posters.
Participate in the drafting of methods and results sections of manuscripts and editing of complete manuscripts.
Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficiency with Python and/or R, and strong quantitative skills.
Proficient with MS Office.
Problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
Detail-oriented.
Able to work independently.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Three years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, statistics, or related quantitative field with 3 years related experience or Master's degree in computer science, statistics, or related quantitative field with 1 or fewer years related experience.
Demonstrated ability on significant graduate project or additional doctoral education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Experience with machine learning preferred.
Experience with electronic health records or other large databases preferred.
Experience with SQL preferred.
Experience in psychiatry, neurology or dementia research preferred.
