Position:
Part-time appointment in the Game Design Program at the Maryland Institute College of Art (Digital Games)
Job Description:
This faculty position will teach a minimum of 3 credits per semester in Game Designs digital game courses (including 2D Game Design, 3D Game Design, and Level Design). The candidate will be capable of teaching various levels of the undergraduate program, have experience developing digital games using the Unity game engine, and have a broad understanding of iterative, player-centric game design processes.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in related field
Experience developing games using the Unity game engine
Experience with player-centric, iterative Game Design practices
Prior games-related experience including college-level teaching, workshop leading, or tutorial production is preferred
Candidate must successfully complete a full background check

Physical demands and work environment:
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. (may be adjusted depending on position)
Work environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
Required training: Exhibitions Department Installation Guide and Policy handbook, MICA Handbook orientation, Anti-Harassment, Hazard Communication, Emergency Plans & Fire Prevention, Personal Protection Equipment. (additional training may be added, SEE: EHS Manager training schedule)
