Position Summary
Position provides nutritional care of individuals in health or disease, which includes the application of the science and art of human nutrition in selecting and obtaining food.
Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in collaboration and negotiation with investigators in planning and implementing
research study inclusive of literature review.
Obtains and evaluates nutrition histories of the subjects regarding food habits. May
require contacting families for planning nutrition aspects of studies well ahead of admission date.
Designs diets for research studies consistent with the plan of study of the particular
project considering nutritional principles, needs and like and dislikes of subjects.
Supervises service of regular and clinical diets for studies not requiring balance
procedures.
Assists in supervision of Research Dietetic Assistants in the production and service of
Counsels/educates patients and families to meet requirements for continued nutritional
care.
Performs other duties as required or as workload changes.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to handle dietary mathematical calculations and metabolic balance techniques for nutritional management.
Ability to review medical literature, comprehend and give verbal/written instructions, uses scientific reasoning and relate effectively with people.
Required Qualifications
Registered Dietitian and Licensed Dietitian in the State of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location.
Two years' work experience in adult or pediatric dietetics.

Salary Range
$27.00 - $41.87 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
