POSITION DETAILS
New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn offering associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for the Director of Continuing Education and Workforce Development.
New York City College of Technology is committed to creating pathways to higher education, job training and professional development programs as well as personal enrichment opportunities for our community. Reporting to the Provost, the Director of Continuing Education and Workforce Development will provide leadership in overseeing the various components of the Division of Continuing Education, including the Academy for Occupational Health and Construction Safety, the Business and Industry Training Center, the Continuing Studies Center, the Adult Education Center, and the CUNY Language Immersion Program, as well as collaborating with the academic departments to support the career readiness of enrolled students, with a focus on securing certifications of value in the workforce. Responsibilities of the position include but will not be limited to:
Develop grant proposals and secure funding for programs
Create noncredit programs in response to the changing needs of business professionals and other residents and organizations of the New York metropolitan area
Recruit, supervise and evaluate divisional personnel
Oversee the recruitment of students for programs
Oversee the development and marketing of continuing education programs
Manage the fiscal operations of the division
Oversee the registration process for continuing education
Prepare annual reports for the division
Maintain and disseminate information about the divisional programs to individuals, community groups and other institutions
Work with academic departments and others at the college to provide training that leads to certifications and/or promotes career readiness
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
A master???s degree or higher in a relevant discipline is preferred.
Relevant experience in administrative positions in a college or university setting.
Leadership experience and knowledge of workforce needs and emerging trends.
A demonstrated record of developing new programs and the ability to manage and direct institutional change.
A history of successful proposal funding is a plus.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Oversees a broad range of fiscal and program responsibilities for Continuing Education and related external programs
Provides leadership for the development and implementation of new programs of study and ensures the coordination and implementation of program components.
Plans, markets and implements College programs in Continuing Education, developing overall programs and overseeing development of content, budgets, and marketing strategies.
Develops funding proposals; solicits grant information and provides leadership and guidance in partnering with community and governmental agencies.
Provide fiscal oversight and evaluation; develops strategic and operating plans; reports progress and results to management.
Oversees a comprehensive marketing and public information program.
Manages staff of the Continuing Education office.
Represents Continuing Education within the College community and externally.
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$119,995-$141,858. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
