Under the supervision of the Student Health & Counseling Services Pharmacy Manager, this position selects, compounds, purchases, dispenses and preserves drugs, medicines and other therapeutic agents as per prescription or requested floor stock. Provides patient education and instruction which are essential functions of the position.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Requires current licensure as a Pharmacist by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
Demonstrated working knowledge of pharmacy policies and procedures and legal requirements of State and Federal regulations to assure compliance
Knowledge of current and new medications to keep physicians apprised
Working knowledge of medications to assess prescription as to its appropriateness
Knowledge of pharmacy computing applications, databases and equipment; skills to utilize such systems in the provision of services.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Skill to be thorough and accurate with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to learn and apply Campus policies and procedures regarding purchasing supplies.
Skill to assess the stock level of supplies and take appropriate action.
Excellent communication and teaching skills to provide effective patient education.
Ability to demonstrate responsibility for effect on others by respecting others opinions and ideas, maintaining harmonious relationship with other team members and showing emotional control in stressful situations.
Typing, spelling and legible handwriting skills to neatly and accurately complete necessary forms.

Work Environment
Subject to completion of a Pre-Placement Medical Examination provided by Occupational Health Services, given at no charge to the applicant. Employee shall participate in required preventive medical and medical monitoring programs, which may include blood tests, immunizations, TB screening, Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogen training, etc., and are provided to meet Federal, State and University requirements.
