Mobile Application Developer (APPLICATIONS PROGR 3)
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Associate Director of DevOps at Risk & Safety Solutions (RSS), the Mobile Application Developer plays a pivotal role in developing innovative apps used across all University of California campuses and Medical Centers. The incumbent works independently and alongside the Mobile Application Architect, Lead, and a diverse team to build and maintain complex mobile applications that seamlessly integrate with a larger ecosystem of web applications provided by RSS. Develops robust, scalable mobile solutions and crafts a comprehensive suite of unit and end-to-end tests to ensure quality and reliability. Collaborates and partners with other teams to ensure smooth, flawless integration across systems. Dives into new technologies, learns cutting edge processes, and proposes innovative improvements to keep our mobile development at the forefront of the industry. Participates in code reviews, peer programming, and exploration of new ideas.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least two years of professional experience as a programmer, and at least one year of iOS development using either native iOS (e.g. Swift) or a cross-platform library.
Experience translating business requirements to technical solutions and developing technical specifications and documentation for use in the development and prioritization of work.
Technical leadership experience for projects of moderate size and experience working with a diverse team including test engineers, UI/UX personnel, and product owners.
Oral, written and interpersonal skills to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to own a positive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional experience developing, releasing, and maintaining an application in the Apple App Store, deploying changes in a non-breaking manner, and managing users using different app versions.
Experience with data syncing solutions such as web sockets, App Sync, or Atlas App Services.
Experience with CI/CD.
Experience with automated testing for mobile devices and/or TDD.
Experience with pair programming and code review.
Knowledge of distributed computing architectures, including client/server and World Wide Web.
Skills to discover, define, and establish scope of problems and define solutions to complex problems.
