Temporary Chemical Inventory Specialist

* This position will be required to work in person.

* The Department of Environment, Health, and Safety is a unique and ever-changing environment that works closely with the entire campus community.

Description of Job Duties:

This work will include:

* Researching and locating Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for chemicals and materials

* Referencing criteria for classification and data entry

* Entering data into an Excel spreadsheet

* Importing data into and validating data in the Vertere chemical inventory software

* This project includes classification of material using criteria from the International Fire Code (IFC)

* Assist other EHS sections on special projects and related activities.

Special Requirements:

* Strong science background (Chemistry preferred but not required) or strong computer skills, written and oral communication skills. Must be organized, independent, and exercise good Judgment.

* The employee may be required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

* Work schedule

* Mon. - Friday between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., 39 hours per week
