Overview:
As a key team member, you will author GHS-compliant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) detailing chemical properties, health and environmental hazards, and safe handling practices. You will also lead safety audits and administer EHS trainings, ensuring all chemical-related information is accurate and up to date to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Job Elements:
Use of SDS software package(s) to create/author SDS’s
Manage GHS labelling processes for our global facilities alongside EHS Manager
Assist with required Environmental Health and Safety Training
Making sure waste is handled in compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies from creation, to storage, and through disposal
Maintain good communications with other departments and personnel to make sure that all EHS requests associated with them are processed or communicated
Assist EHS Manager with safety audits and new employee safety orientation
Work to improve current SDS, GHS, RoHS, REACH, and other regulatory processes
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
Associate degree or higher in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Public Health, Biology or Safety or related field
1 year experience in authoring Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Basic computer skills
High level of interpersonal skills
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Display a sense of urgency, while not skipping steps
High attention to detail and decision-making skills
Preferred
Experience working in a fast paced, manufacturing environment
