Position Information: Working supervisor to manage and supervise the maintenance, repair and minor alterations of tractors and related equipment located at two UCR field stations managed by Agricultural Operations. Responsible for supervising the day-to-day shop activities and ensuring compliance with local, county and state regulations.
The full salary range for the Garage Manager is $66,500 - $118,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $66,500 - $92,400 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Typically requires an Associate degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Specialty certification within automotive industry.

Interpersonal skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, ability to multi-task effectively in a high volume environment, organizational skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, and manage staff time and effort accordingly to provide exceptional customer service.
Working knowledge of repair, maintenance and storage of fleet vehicles. Ability to perform industry-standard diagnostic and troubleshooting testing.
Ability to operate personal computers, office software, computerized vehicle maintenance programs, and other specialized diagnostic devices and power tools.
Knowledge of all applicable codes, rules and regulations related to maintenance and repair of fleet.
Ability to perform basic mathematical and budget operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of university policies and procedures.
Ability to obtain and maintain specialty certification within automotive industry such as the Automotive Service Excellence certifications (ASE).
