Job Summary: | Join our dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a highly respected educational and research institution. Under the direction of the Occupational Medicine Clinic Manager, the Occupational Medicine Registered Nurse performs a wide variety of Occupational Health and Safety-related screening tests and procedures. Your responsibilities will include conducting respirator fit testing, pulmonary function tests, Snellen eye exams, and other procedures as assigned and allowed by your licensure. Additionally, you will be responsible for collecting and managing patient data as directed. |
Responsibilities: | Provides professional nursing care to patients through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation to ensure physical and mental well-being. - 60% Provides care to individuals within a specialized area of medicine to ensure physical and mental well-being
- 10% Evaluates current care plans, completes assessments, develops specialized treatment plans, documents medical activity, and analyzes patient data and results to help diagnosis and treat illnesses and diseases
- 5% Educates patients and their support systems on how to manage conditions and to promote the health and well-being of patients and those around them
- 5% Participates in medical research as needed in collaboration with medical professionals and internal and external stakeholders
- 20% Provides clinical services to patients in the Occupational Medicine unit

Education: | Required Associate's Degree in Nursing
Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) |
Qualifications: | Required - Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or Compact State Licensure - Ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues to foster a supportive environment - Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare team members, including the ability to adjust communication style to meet the needs of patients
Preferred - One (1) year experience as a RN - Experience in Occupational Medicine/Employee Health - CPR/BLS certification |
License/Certification: | Required RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure Licensed as a RN in the State of WI
Preferred Drivers License - Valid and Meets UW Risk Management Standards |

Salary: | Minimum $65,000 ANNUAL (12 months) Depending on Qualifications The starting salary for the position is $65,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
