Under general supervision, provide technical, scientific, and organizational assistance support in operation of the laboratory research activities focused on regenerative medicine in translational models. Assist and support studies focusing on stem cell and gene therapy. Work closely with immediate supervisor and other laboratory personnel; assist in the collection, entry and analysis of data, processing and storing cell and tissue samples, and conducting laboratory procedures according to established protocols. Work according to Standard Operating Procedures established for, but not limited to, the following: Blood and tissue processing and storage, sectioning for H&E and immunohistochemical analysis, preparing collection tubes and instruments for use, data entry and filing.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Biology or related scientific discipline.
Experience working in a research laboratory in the areas of genetics, molecular or cellular biology, or related research fields including in vitro and in vivo models. Experience with computer applications for transcribing raw data and entering and analyzing sample/research results.
Experience with translational research including sterile techniques, collection of specimens, and tissue or cell culture. Experience in performing laboratory techniques and analyzing products using different types of analytical systems.
Mathematical skills to prepare detailed written data summaries.
Knowledge of chemicals and requirements for safe handling procedures.
Skills to follow specific protocols for data collection and follow GLP standards.
Preferred Qualifications
2 years of demonstrated experience working in a research laboratory in the areas of genetics, molecular or cellular biology, which includes working with in vitro and in vivo models.
Communication and interpersonal skills to confer, and relate tactfully and with professionalism with other laboratory personnel.
Analytical skills to follow protocols, troubleshoot problems, and prepare medium and solutions.
Knowledge of safety regulations, reporting requirements, record keeping and disposal of chemicals and radioactive chemicals. Knowledge of purchasing procedures; skills to maintain purchasing records and chemical inventories; and to store and organize in appropriate locations. Knowledge of radioactive agents and chemicals and their safe handling procedures.
Knowledge of laboratory safety and proper use, handling, monitoring, measurement and disposal of radioisotopes, carcinogens, and biohazardous substances.
Ability to use scientific terminology.
