The Physical Therapy Assistant plans complex treatment programs for approval by the Physical Therapist (PT) for implementation, and applies physical therapy procedures to patients under the general supervision of a PT. They perform physical therapy assistant duties independently. They work under the supervision of a PT to provide services that promote the prevention, remediation, and rehabilitation of acute and chronic physical dysfunction. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
