Position Information: Provide leadership in the management of financial, personnel, student affairs, administrative and research support of operational infrastructure for the department of Chemistry, including Chemistry student affairs units, both graduate and undergraduate, and the CNAS Shops for the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS).As the Financial and Administrative Officer for Chemistry within CNAS, the incumbent provides daily management for the administrative team that supports these groups. The management functions are highly complex based on the following: As of 07/01/24, $53 million allocated and $32 million expended annually. Funding comprised of state, extramural and sales and service. Total employees on payroll as of July 2024: ~275, which includes ~34faculty instructors/researchers. The FAO provides recommendations to the chair and is the primary staff contact, serving to direct the day-to-day operations by assigning and motivating staff, maintaining expert-level financial and administrative controls and promoting a culture of safety. The FAO is responsible for ensuring adherence to policy, establishing best practices within the scope of responsibility and working in collaboration with the Dean's Office and central campus offices to meet departmental objectives.
The full salary range for the Financial and Administrative Officer is $100,100 - $190,500. However, the expected pay rate for this position is up to $190,500. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
