Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Specialist, Environment Health and Safety

Role Overview:

• Serve as a Specialist in the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) department, supporting Memorial Sloan Kettering's mission by implementing safety programs and fostering a culture of safety.
• Conduct drills, fire safety training, and provide training on health and safety programs as needed.
• Perform risk assessments, safety surveillance, and equipment inspections; initiate corrective actions to achieve safety compliance and follow-up with responsible parties.
• Evaluating and improving safety procedures related to environmental care.
• Implement hazard assessments, exposure monitoring, and safety training programs.
• Manage compliance records and reporting.
• Responding effectively to emergencies, such as fire alarms, hazardous spills, and workplace injuries.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience in Environmental Health and Safety or Facilities Operations.
• Knowledge of city, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and healthcare safety procedures.

Core Skills:

• Strong spoken and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in the use of computers including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Additional Information:

Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday

Location: Onsite, 1275 York Ave with the flexibility to report to other MSK locations as needed.

Reporting to: Manager, Fire & Life Safety

Pay Range:$75,500.00-$116,900.00
