General Description

The Department of Environmental Health and Engineering in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health invites applications for a full-time, tenure track research and teaching faculty position. We are seeking applicants with specific expertise in epidemiologic investigation of environmental exposures, risks, and health outcomes, as well as broader research and teaching expertise in the environmental health sciences. A range of environmental and community conditions and exposures and related health outcomes across the lifespan are of interest to the department.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must hold a doctoral degree (e.g., MD, PhD, DrPH), specific training in epidemiology and environmental health sciences, and documented success in epidemiologic research. The rank of the appointment will be in accordance with the successful candidate's experience.

 

Successful applicants will demonstrate a solid record of scholarship and extramurally funded research commensurate with rank; strong skills to contribute to advancing their field and teaching; and a commitment to addressing the challenges in their identified areas of research through translation of research to policy. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a sustainable sponsored research program in the Bloomberg School's highly collaborative environment; be an active contributor to the educational mission of the Department; and should have experience in teaching, mentoring, and advising students at the graduate level. The candidate should enjoy working in a highly interdisciplinary team environment. Candidates should also be committed to fostering justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout their research, teaching, and mentoring activities.

The Department offers excellent opportunities for cross cutting interdisciplinary research in many areas in the environmental health sciences, including environmental epidemiology, environmental and occupational health, toxicology, physiology, climate sciences, exposure sciences, risk assessment, environmental justice, and environmental engineering.
