Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey has opening for a Work Assistant within the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute, located in Piscataway, NJ.
Under supervision, supports administrative operations for the federally funded World Trade Center Health Program at Rutgers. Assists program staff with member services, data entry, records management, medical claims processing, and other administrative functions. This is a Temporary (12 month) hourly part-time position.
Duties include:
Assists administrative team in coordinating patient care for World Trade Center Health Program members. Works with patients and providers to identify member needs and conduct authorizations in accordance with programmatic guidelines.
Supports program retention and patient education efforts. Screens patient calls and proactively contacts patients to update information. Assists in the development and dissemination of the clinic WTCHP newsletter.
Aids in processing records releases and clinical records management
Assists with billing for the World Trade Center Health Program. Reviews medical claims for program compliance, accuracy, and completeness.
Conducts needed data entry for the department. Aids in audit initiatives, under supervision.
