If so, Recreation Services at Iowa State University is currently seeking applicants for an Intramural Sports and Youth Programs Coordinator! Come work with a passionate team of professionals in one of the largest and best intramural programs in the country! This position will be classified as a Recreation Services Specialist I.

What You'll Do:
Coordinate, plan, schedule, and supervise Intramural Sports activities.
Assist in managing and delivering Youth Programs (camps, clinics, events).
Support logistics for Youth Programs such as registration, scheduling, and communication with participants and families.
Evaluate programs and provide feedback.
Collaborate with marketing for program promotion.
Serve on departmental/division committees.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student employees.
Support First Aid/CPR training and safety readiness.
Promote student development via Career Ready framework.
Assist with expense tracking and revenue monitoring.
Provide input on equipment/supply needs and purchasing.
Stay current on risk management best practices.
Implement safety protocols and staff training.
Coordinate with Risk Management and EHS for compliance.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
Level Guidelines • Individual contributor position with developing professional and/or technical skills working under immediate to general supervision • Grasps professional-level knowledge and concepts of field while working in a progressive learning mode • Works on problems and issues of somewhat limited scope • Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data for which answers are available or can be obtained • Responds to inquiries and issues, escalating to manager or higher level workers as appropriate • May lead projects of limited scope and complexity • May provide guidance to students
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or above in Recreation, Sport Management, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Student Affairs, or related field.
Demonstrated experience in supporting recreation programming.
Experience in training and mentoring sports officials and/or student staff.
Experience planning, coordinating, or supervising youth camp programs.
Background in sports officiating, ideally with recognized certification.
