Vanderbilt University is searching for an Assistant Director to lead our radiation and laser safety programs and serve as the university Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). This role is an opportunity to enable great science and innovation, design flexible safety systems that work now and in the future, and leave something better than you found it.

We are looking for a collaborative leader who wants to shape the next generation of safety programs that allows innovation of all kinds to thrive safely, from traditional labs to student-driven projects, makerspaces, and start-ups.

Master's degree required. Certification as a Certified Laser Safety Officer and/or Certified Health Physicist required. 8+ years experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role required. Experience in university research environment preferred. Experience with EHS Assistant software or other safety software systems is a plus.
