This role will support both Preschool and Infant/Toddler classrooms.
We are looking for dedicated individual to join our Early Childhood Education team as Associate Teacher. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth and development of children while supporting our mission to provide high-quality education and care.
Qualifications:
Has 12 semester units ECE/CD, with a grade C or better, or CDA Credential or CTC.
Has 6 months related experience with children ages 0-5 years of age.
Has an Associate Teacher Permit or higher.
HS/EHS/MSHS/State-Braided Associate Teachers must also meet at least one of the following criteria:
Have a child development associate (CDA) credential or the California equivalent of a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit at time of hire (12 ECE semester units including core courses; and for EHS and infant/toddler classrooms must also have 6 infant/toddler semester units)
OR
Be enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed within 2 years;
OR
Have an associate or bachelor's degree (in any area) or be enrolled in a program leading to such a degree.
Depending on the department assigned, a valid California driver’s license, a current DMV driving record, and proof of insurance may be required to fulfill job-related travel. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable laws.
As an Associate Teacher you will:
Provide care and education for children ages 0-5, ensuring a positive and engaging learning experience.
Collaborate with the Center Supervisor and Teachers to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
Assume the responsibilities of a Teacher in their absence, guiding and supporting instructional assistants, parents, and volunteers.
Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children.
Assist in planning and executing educational activities that promote child development.
Participate in physical activities with children, including games, music, and outdoor play.
Assist with bus supervision, ensuring the safety and engagement of children during transportation.
Complete pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training within the first 30 days of hire.
Complete 16 hours of training on preventative health practices and nutrition, as required by Health and Safety Code within the first 30 days of hire.
