Overview In 1971, Yale University established Yale Health to provide health services to its facility, staff and students through a multidisciplinary health maintenance organization located on campus. Yale Health has more than 49,000 members including students, staff, faculty and their families who come from every state in the country and almost every country in the world. With over 50 years of service to the Yale community, our state-of-the-art facility at 55 Lock Street, is where our members receive most of their care from our 150+ providers. It is a 144,000 square foot medical facility with over 90 exam rooms, an Acute Care Department, a 15-bed inpatient facility with two negative pressure rooms, a diagnostic imaging suite including MR and CT scan, x-ray and ultrasound and a full-service retail pharmacy.
Reporting to the Associate Chief of Campus and Occupational Health (ACCOH). The position manages programs and policies of university health requirements compliance for students and employees. It coordinates public health emergency preparedness and response, provides programmatic and clinical support for occupational health services and retains managerial responsibility for the health requirements compliance team. This role is responsible for project management, dashboards, disseminating information, and updates throughout the university as needed. It will require strong project and change management, networking, presentation and communication skills and a high degree of initiative, flexibility, collaboration, and creativity.
Additional responsibilities include:
Lead, supervise and serve as a clinical resource for the Campus and Occupational Health Compliance Program Team, responsible for compliance with university health requirements for faculty, staff and students.
Employ data analytics to identify and evaluate the effectiveness of programs.
Serves as the coordinator and implementor for outreach efforts and needs associated with disease/chemical/environmental exposure(s) and High Impact Infectious Disease concerns in collaboration with the Campus and Occ Health Leadership.
Keeps track of key policy decisions and action items when interacting with teams at Yale Health and across Yale University campus.
Maintains logs of exposure incidents and employs data review to determine trends for future incident planning.
Provides HIID, contact tracing, and public health education and educational resources to stakeholders as needed.
Maintains the HIID Teams site and ensures all documentation is maintained and up to date. Serve as the main coordinator, point of contact, and support person for campus wide committees, including quarterly Health & Safety Leaders (from both academic and administrative sectors), the semi-annual Campus Health Advisory Committee, and any additional committees as needed. Support Campus and Occupational health program budgets, including SBAR generation for resource requests.
As needed, collaborate with Emergency management and clinical partners.
Participate in calls with the department of public health (DPH) to monitor relevant health trends that could impact the Yale University population.
Collaborate with IT in the development, iteration and implementation of the Yale health requirements platform.
Collaborates with stakeholders to improve system functionality and user experience.
Processes compliance information submitted to Health On Track and interfaces directly with submitters (employees, staff, students, etc.)
Serves as the first point of escalation for questions, complaints or escalations related to Health On Track compliance.
Participate in planning and execution of simulations, drills and tabletop exercises as needed to prepare for health emergencies with campus partners.
Participate in the incident command structure and university Emergency Operations team as needed. Interface with campus partners and local and state public health departments as needed.
Research, monitor and update departmental practices involving legal and regulatory requirements pertinent to Campus Health activities.
Develops, documents, tracks progress and maintains priority lists for departmental work for both Campus and Occupational Health initiatives.
Support clinical needs of both Campus and Occupational Health programs, including some direct patient care and cross-coverage for departmental staff as needed.

Well-developed technology skills and ability to utilize multiple systems including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and create spreadsheets and utilize relational databases required to look up, extract and analyze information, including but not limited to the following: Workday, STARS, PowerBi, Salesforce, Health On Track, Epic EMR. Ability to interpret data, and expertise with technical software programs.
5. Ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary teams and serve as a change agent. Well-developed oral and written communication skills. Ability to write clearly and concisely about complex subject matter. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential materials with complete discretion. Excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
Schedule/Shift: Full-Time - 37.5 HRS, Weekdays 8:30am - 5:00pm. Occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, holiday/recess periods may also be required.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated experience in Occupational Health, Student Health, Public Health or a university setting. Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Nursing, Health Informatics, Public Health or related field Informatics Certification or Accreditation.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and nursing services multi specialty physician practices. Assign responsibilities and duties as related to appropriate licensure and experience of staff member. 2. Analyzes internal and external data and information to identify opportunities for improving services, patient outcomes and patient satisfaction. 3. Evaluates staff performance based on professional practice standards and development. Conduct performance evaluations and implement corrective actions in order to promote a productive and healthy work environment. 4. Provides leadership, guidance and direction to clinical staff. Collaborate with nursing staff at all levels. Bases decisions and actions on ethical principles and fosters a non-discriminatory environment. 5. Interviews, hires, and trains clinical staff. Ensures all clinical staff maintains required training skills 6. Responsible for operating within approved budget. 7. Obtains and assesses vital signs, patient history, medications and other pertinent demographic information and log all data into records according to practice policy and standards. 8. Evaluates and presents patient history and diagnosis to physician using concise and accurate verbal communication. 9. Assures all procedures for maintaining patient confidentiality are maintained per HIPAA guidelines. 10. Provides patient education about various health care topics and medications. 11. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor Degree in Nursing and three years of nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
